FCSal is looking for a new Vice President!

Background: The Foundation for the Conservation of Salamanders, initiated in 2011 as Chopsticks For Salamanders, is a 501C3 organization. With two main objectives, providing funding each year for salamander conservation efforts, and Salamander Saturday, an international day for raising awareness about salamander conservation, this organization aims to provide critical support for this under funded and under prioritized taxa. To date FCSal has provided over $50,000 in funding to salamander conservation initiatives through its annual grant.

Job Description:

FCSal is seeking a self-driven, motivated individual to help drive this young organization into the future. Focus areas include fundraising, grant review and board oversight.  The organization has suffered due to the pandemic, so primary goals for 2021 will be getting the organization back on track in terms of fundraising and educational outreach.

  • To disseminate information about the threats to salamanders and their habitats
  • To increase awareness about salamander diversity, biology, and conservation
  • To raise money for salamander conservation, education, and research

We aim to increase awareness about the deforestation for the production of disposable chopsticks and educate about salamanders and their diversity within the United States, while raising money to support salamander conservation, education, and research.

Salamander Saturday


Salamander Saturday is an initiative started by FCSal to raise awareness about salamanders, their habitats, and their role in the ecosystem. We are encouraging organizations around the world to hold an event on this day promoting global unity in the effort to protect salamanders.
